The Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show drew an estimated 1,000 people to the Silver Spring Civic Building Saturday.
The show featured 65 vendors, 100 tables, collectors from five states and former Washington football great Gary Clark who signed autographs and posed for pictures.
In addition to sports memorabilia there were non-sports items including Pokemon cards.
Ryan McCormick, who runs the event with his wife and kids, told MCM, “It’s a great event…it’s a great venue. We have a big market and ice rink outside, a lot of foot traffic, a lot of shopping and dining, people come from the surrounding community, come out and join us. We attract collectors from all over the DMV as well because we do a lot of promotion on line.”
McCormick said this is one of four such card shows each year. The next one and the biggest one takes place on Saturday, Feb. 8, the day before the Super Bowl at the same location.
